As we continue to strengthen our newsroom and expand our coverage, we are looking for passionate and motivated New Correspondents to join our team in Accra. This is an exciting opportunity for emerging journalists who are eager to develop their reporting skills, cover important events, engage with communities, and contribute to high-quality television content. Job Summary The New Correspondent will research, report, and produce news stories for television and other media platforms. The successful candidate will identify newsworthy events, conduct interviews, gather accurate information, and present compelling stories that meet professional journalism standards. We are looking for curious, confident, ethical, and energetic individuals who can work effectively in the field, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with audiences. Key Responsibilities Identify and pursue relevant and newsworthy stories within assigned areas. Conduct interviews with credible sources, witnesses, experts, officials, and members of the public. Research, verify, and gather accurate information before developing stories. Write clear, concise, and engaging news reports and scripts. Attend press conferences, public events, community activities, and other newsworthy occasions. Conduct on-location reporting and provide live or recorded reports when required. Develop strong relationships with reliable sources and community contacts. Work closely with producers, editors, camera operators, and other newsroom professionals. Present stories professionally and confidently on television and other media platforms. Monitor breaking news and emerging developments and respond quickly to assignments. Capture relevant audio, video, photographs, and supporting information for news reports where required. Follow editorial guidelines and maintain accuracy, fairness, balance, and objectivity in reporting. Verify facts, names, figures, quotations, and other information before publication or broadcast. Meet newsroom deadlines and respond effectively to changing news priorities. Suggest original story ideas and contribute fresh perspectives to newsroom planning. Maintain professional conduct and protect the confidentiality of sensitive sources and information. Stay informed about current affairs, national developments, community issues, and emerging trends. Qualification Required & Experience Degree/HND qualification in Journalism, Mass Communication, Communications, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field. Previous experience in journalism, broadcasting, reporting, media production, or a related field will be an advantage. Strong research, writing, interviewing, and storytelling skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present information confidently and clearly on camera. Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, accuracy, fairness, and responsible reporting. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong curiosity and the ability to identify compelling and relevant stories. Good interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build reliable sources. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a newsroom team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays when news assignments require. Basic knowledge of video, audio, digital media, or social media content creation will be an advantage.
