We are seeking a proactive, organised, and people-focused HR Manager / Supervisor to lead key human resources activities and support a productive, professional, and positive workplace. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day HR operations, support recruitment and employee development, strengthen employee relations, maintain accurate personnel records, and ensure that HR practices align with company policies and applicable employment requirements. About the Role As the HR Manager / Supervisor, you will oversee the company’s core HR activities and provide practical support to management and employees. You will coordinate recruitment, onboarding, attendance, performance management, employee relations, training, HR documentation, and workplace initiatives while ensuring that employees understand and follow company policies and standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Human Resources Management Develop and implement effective HR processes that support the company’s business objectives. Coordinate day-to-day HR activities and ensure employees receive timely HR support. Maintain clear and practical HR policies, procedures, and guidelines. Advise management and employees on HR-related matters within the scope of the role. Identify workforce needs and recommend appropriate staffing and people-management solutions. Support management in building a professional, accountable, and productive workforce. 2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Coordinate the recruitment process from vacancy identification through onboarding. Develop and update job descriptions in collaboration with department heads. Advertise vacancies through appropriate recruitment channels. Screen applications and shortlist qualified candidates. Coordinate interviews, assessments, reference checks, and selection processes. Prepare employment documentation and support successful candidates through onboarding. Maintain an organised recruitment pipeline and candidate records. Develop practical approaches to attract and retain qualified talent. 3. Employee Onboarding & Orientation Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation programmes. Introduce new employees to company policies, procedures, values, and workplace expectations. Ensure new employees complete required documentation and receive the necessary tools and access. Follow up with new employees during their probationary periods. Coordinate probation reviews and support managers in providing constructive feedback. 4. Employee Relations Serve as a professional point of contact for employee concerns and HR-related enquiries. Address workplace issues promptly, fairly, and confidentially. Support managers and employees in resolving workplace conflicts. Coordinate disciplinary and grievance processes in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements. Promote respectful communication, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability. Maintain appropriate documentation relating to employee relations matters. 5. Performance Management Coordinate employee performance appraisal processes. Work with managers and supervisors to establish clear performance expectations and objectives. Monitor appraisal schedules and ensure managers complete reviews on time. Support managers in addressing performance gaps and developing improvement plans. Identify high-performing employees and support appropriate recognition and development initiatives. Encourage a culture of continuous feedback, learning, and accountability. 6. Attendance, Leave & Workforce Administration Maintain accurate employee attendance, leave, and workforce records. Monitor staff punctuality, absenteeism, leave balances, and other relevant workforce indicators. Coordinate employee leave requests in line with company policies. Maintain accurate employee files and HR databases. Prepare regular workforce reports for management. Identify attendance or workforce issues and escalate them appropriately. 7. Learning & Development Identify employee training and professional development needs. Coordinate internal and external training programmes. Maintain accurate records of employee training, certifications, and professional development. Support managers in developing employee skills and capabilities. Recommend relevant learning opportunities that support business and employee objectives. 8. Compensation & Benefits Support Work with management and finance to maintain accurate employee compensation records. Support payroll preparation by providing accurate information on attendance, leave, allowances, deductions, new hires, and employee exits. Maintain employee benefits records and respond to routine employee enquiries. Support the administration of statutory and company-related employee benefits as applicable. Protect the confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information. 9. HR Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and employment records. Ensure HR documentation complies with company policies and applicable employment requirements. Monitor employment contracts, probation periods, leave records, performance reviews, and other key HR documentation. Maintain confidentiality and secure storage of employee information. Support internal reviews and audits by providing accurate HR records when required. Keep management informed of significant HR compliance issues and recommend appropriate action. 10. Workplace Culture & Employee Engagement Promote a positive, respectful, inclusive, and professional workplace culture. Coordinate employee engagement activities and internal initiatives. Encourage effective communication between management and employees. Support initiatives that improve employee satisfaction, teamwork, productivity, and retention. Recognise employee contributions and support appropriate employee appreciation initiatives. Help communicate company values and expectations across the organisation. 11. HR Reporting & Analytics Prepare regular HR reports for management. Track key HR indicators such as headcount, recruitment, turnover, attendance, leave, training, and performance. Analyse workforce information and identify trends or areas requiring attention. Provide management with practical HR insights to support decision-making. Maintain accurate HR records and ensure reports remain timely and reliable. 12. General Administration & Management Support Support management with HR-related projects and organisational initiatives. Coordinate HR meetings and maintain appropriate records and action points. Work closely with department heads and supervisors to address staffing and people-management needs. Support organisational development and process-improvement initiatives. Perform other HR and administrative duties assigned by management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree, HND, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field. Relevant professional certification or membership in a recognised HR or professional management body will be an advantage. Previous experience in human resources management, HR supervision, HR administration, employee relations, or a related role is required. Experience working in an IT, electrical, technology, engineering, construction, telecommunications, or related business environment will be an advantage. Demonstrated experience managing recruitment, employee records, performance processes, and workplace relations.
